These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Plato iOS app (“Plato”), provided by Caleb Kraft (“we,” “us”). By using Plato, you agree to these Terms.
The service
Plato helps you plan meals, keep recipes, and manage a shopping list — alone or with a shared household kitchen. Features may change over time as the app is updated.
Your content
You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, plans, and other content you add. You are responsible for having the rights to content you import or share (including recipe text and images from the web or other people).
Household sharing
If you invite others to a kitchen, you are responsible for who you invite. Shared members may view and edit shared kitchen data. Use sharing thoughtfully — kitchen data can include personal meal plans and photos.
Plato Pro subscriptions
- Some features require an active Plato Pro subscription purchased through the Apple App Store.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in accordance with Apple’s rules.
- Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Refund requests are handled by Apple under their policies.
- Plato may offer a limited explore period before requiring a subscription; details shown in the app control.
Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse Plato. For example, don’t:
- Attempt to break, reverse engineer, or abuse the app or related services
- Use Plato for unlawful activity
- Upload content you don’t have rights to share
- Interfere with other users’ kitchens or Apple services Plato relies on
Third-party services
Plato relies on Apple services such as iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, and the App Store. Their terms and availability apply. Recipe import from websites depends on those sites remaining accessible and may not always succeed.
Disclaimer
Plato is provided “as is.” Meal planning and shopping features are tools — they are not professional dietary, medical, or safety advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Caleb Kraft and Plato are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or kitchen plans arising from your use of the app.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
